Holding The Double Bass 

The proper height for holding the double bass.  Place the left index finger on the large E or 4th string, about 4 inches down from the nut. Then move the double bass out towards your face. It should be at eye level. If the bass is not at the proper height you should adjust the endpin.  See how to adjust endpin.
